Retaining Staff in a Hot Job Market
A recent web survey conducted by About.com revealed some interesting facts about why employees stick with their employers.
Top reason was because they got good coaching and interaction with their bosses!
Here are the results:
Traditionally skilled trades - construction, manufacturing and transportation - have provided few benefits and incentives to employees. By reversing that trend, employers are well poised to retain staff. Some possible benefits (and they are tax deductible) include:
- paid vacation
- time off with pay for medical or dental appointments
- time off to participate in work-related training
- partial or full payment of training costs
